Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement
SUMMARY:
The Quality Improvement / Quality Assurance Coordinator is assigned the duties of administrating the Quality Improvement program to ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements and standards of practice.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Registered Nurse
• Ability to communicate in an effective manner and demonstrate good interpersonal skills
• Knowledgeable about Quality Assurance (QA) policy and procedures
• Experience developing and maintaining spreadsheets and reports
• Familiarity with policies and procedures regarding reporting and release of protected health information.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for the implementation and monitoring of the organization’s Quality Assurance Program.
• Ensures there are processes in place to monitor and measure all activities related to Quality Assurance.
• Provides direction and coordination of Quality Assurance activities, utilizing continuous quality improvement principles and methodologies.
• Works collaboratively with supervisors to ensure documentation is complete and consistent with organization’s policies and procedures.
• Submit monthly peer review charts to RCHI.
• Prepare monthly peer review summary for medical staff.
• Provide back up for floor nursing as needed.
• Responsible for Utilization Review of Performance Improvement.
• Coordination of Benefits with Insurance Plans.
• Miscellaneous duties as assigned, requested, or required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
• 2 years as a Registered Nurse Preferred
• BSN or BHA preferred

LANGUAGE/READING SKILLS:
• Communication, both verbally and in writing, in English
• Knowledge or understanding of Spanish, preferred

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
• Competent in dosage calculations
• Basic statistical and mathematical concepts

REASONING ABILITY:
Employee responds to unusual or varied situations that are not covered by existing standards, procedures, and precedents.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, ascend and descend stairs, possess ability to handle, finger, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.

Employee must frequently be able to lift 25 pounds from the floor to waist level and may be occasionally required to lift 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to clearly focus vision.

BENEFITS:
Retirement with Texas County and District Retirement System. Employee contributes 7% from Gross Pay and Hospital matches at 225%. Vesting is at 8 years of service.

Nine paid Holidays per year, accrued Paid Time Leave and Sick Leave.

Pay is commensurate with Education and Experience.
